Overview
A multi-year project with resources that spanned across three regional offices, we were asked to rethink and to develop solutions that would meet the changing landscape for USAA’s military members and their families. To help improve their entire holistic experience when buying, owning, and maintaining their vehicles while on active duty, during their retirement, and for the newer generation of members from their growing families as membership was passed down.
Through collaborations with the Insights Team, we conducted research in order to understand, identify, and prioritize current and future opportunities. I facilitated design sprints to validate ideas we had generated from the data, and led the team in rapid prototyping and user research. Iterating and testing ideas, until we identified the best opportunities and direction for the company and its members.
After the team was successful in presenting our solutions to executives and the board, I moved on to a more principal role of exploring high level vision of new products and advising the teams working on those product lines. Based on the work I was doing, I was able to help design teams across the enterprise to implement new mobile UI patterns into the new USAA design system.
Here are a few projects I worked on:
Aspirational Search
This project was an exploration into redefining how members discover and browse vehicles. Personalizing the search experience and making it more accessible to a wider audience by focusing on their lifestyle instead of traditional search methods.
Ownership
Continuing the journey of creating a new experience of interactivity with our products, I was asked to concept a prototype of a new auto dashboard to present to our executives and Auto Experience leadership. A dashboard that could replace the existing homepage of the mobile app. Through this exploration, we were able to develop new modern mobile patterns that the various design teams would adopt across the enterprise.
